The core values of UFABC undergraduate programs are interdisciplinarity and flexibility. All students are admitted into one of the four interdisciplinary entrance programs available: Bachelor in Science and Technology (BC&T), Bachelor in Sciences and Humanities (BC&H), Teaching Degree in Human Sciences (LCH), and Teaching Degree in Natural and Exact Sciences (LCNE).
Students are allowed to choose their academic trajectories freely (signing up for courses even from other interdisciplinary programs); being admitted into a specific program allows for enrollment in courses offered by that program and by other programs as well.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interdisciplinary Entrance Programs<\/mark>
<\/strong>
Bachelor in Science and Technology<\/a>:<\/strong> in the Bachelor in Science and Technology (BC&T) students have the opportunity to work and develop interdisciplinary themes, through a methodology that encourages an investigative stance, stimulates research and consequent scientific production, which provides the necessary means to trigger the continuous learning process throughout their future academic and professional life. In order to be part of the reorganization of science and the interaction between science and technology, UFABC organizes BC&T based on six main axes, with which it intends to inspire research fields: Energy; Transformation Processes; Representation and Simulation; Information and Communication; Structure of Matter; and Humanities.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bachelor in Sciences and Humanities:<\/strong> <\/a>the Bachelor in Sciences and Humanities (BC&H) is as interdisciplinary program, with an emphasis on science-based human and social issues. The curricular matrix provides experiences and academic studies that result in strong scientific training and the acquisition of skills for professional practice related to human and social sciences. Furthermore, the program allows the student, after obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Sciences and Humanities, to continue their academic career and quickly obtain a second diploma, in a specific follow-up program at UFABC. Initiation into Social Sciences and Philosophy occurs through lectures, in-depth study of fundamental texts in the area, field exercises, participation in collaborative research groups on new theories in social sciences and humanities, outreach activities and production of academic texts. The student also has contact with basic subjects in Natural Sciences and Mathematics.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teaching Degree in Human Sciences<\/strong>: <\/a>this program aims to train teachers to work in Basic Education, in the area of Human Sciences, especially in the final years of Elementary Education. Due to its curricular matrix with a strong interdisciplinary character between the Human Sciences, the program also aims to train teachers to comply with the new requirement for secondary school curricular organization, by areas of knowledge.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teaching Degree in Natural and Exact Sciences<\/strong>:<\/a> the General objective of the Degree in Natural and Exact Sciences program is the initial training of Teachers to work in Basic Education in the broad areas of Natural and Exact Sciences, both in the final years of primary education and in secondary education, in the latter case in educational systems that organize their curricular matrices into disciplinary components configured as major areas of knowledge, promoting in training a critical, humanistic and in-depth perspective of science, encompassing everything from the genesis of scientific knowledge to its dissemination in formal and non-formal spaces of Education. \/ this program is an entry pathway to higher education for students seeking a humanistic, critical, comprehensive, and emancipatory education. It prepares versatile teachers with a solid interdisciplinary educational, scientific, and cultural foundation to work in early childhood education and the early years of elementary school, as well as in collaboration with educational management in formal and non-formal settings. The program aims to foster critical civic awareness and expand ways of seeing and being in the world, with a transformative perspective (Freire, 1996), grounded in ethics, aesthetics, and human development (Formosinho, 2009). Socioeconomic Financial Aid<\/mark><\/strong>
After being admitted to one of UFABC\u2019s programs students are entitled to apply to Socioeconomic Aids. The Socioeconomic Aid Program aims to provide conditions for socioeconomically vulnerable students enrolled in an undergraduate program at UFABC to manage to expand their condition to keep studying at the institution. Undergraduate Student Exchange Program (PEC-G) \u2013 About the PEC-G<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Undergraduate Student Exchange Program (PEC-G) offers foreign students free spots for full undergraduate degrees in Brazil. There are openings for courses in all fields of knowledge, with no tuition fees or entrance exams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Be a national of a country participating in the PEC-G Program
\u2022 Reside outside Brazil
\u2022 Not be Brazilian, nor have Brazilian parents
\u2022 Not hold any type of visa or Residence Authorization for Brazil, except for a tourist visa
\u2022 Be at least 18 years old by the date specified in the Selection Process Public Notice
\u2022 Have completed or be completing secondary education (high school) outside Brazil<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note:<\/em> Candidates who are completing high school must present their Certificate of Completion at the time of enrollment at the Brazilian Higher Education Institution (HEI), if selected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Have a general average in secondary education equal to or greater than 60%
\u2022 Have one or more financial sponsors who can provide proof of sufficient means to support their living expenses in Brazil. Admission through the Program is free of charge, but all candidates must demonstrate financial means to live in Brazil.
\u2022 Commit to returning to their home country after completing the undergraduate degree
\u2022 Meet the Portuguese language proficiency requirements, as established in the Public Notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who CANNOT apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Brazilian citizens, even those with dual nationality
\u2022 Candidates who hold any temporary or permanent visa or Residence Authorization for Brazil
\u2022 Candidates who have attended high school in Brazil, in whole or in part
\u2022 Candidates previously selected for the PEC-G who were dismissed from the Program
\u2022 Candidates previously selected for the PEC-G who did not enroll in a HEI and failed to provide justification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selection process:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PEC-G calendars and selection procedures are regulated by a Public Notice issued by the Ministry of Education (MEC), in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
