Collaborating Researcher Program – CRP
The Collaborating Researcher program of UFABC is the only institutional process that allows researchers without employment ties with UFABC to develop research in the university’s facilities. The program aims to foster scientific and technological research in the institution, enabling the contribution of external collaborators, and the development of professionals who want to continue improving as researchers, with the achievement of a level of excellence in a certain area of knowledge.
The program also allows the researcher to collaborate with the didactic activities and guidance of students of scientific initiation, since it contemplates all pre-established requirements. The participation of a Collaborating Researcher Program scholarship holder or volunteer is allowed. This category does not apply to academic mobility students interested in carrying out research and/or teaching for a study period at UFABC.
The program was established by ConsUni Resolution No. 232, of September 27, 2023, published in Service Bulletin No. 1284. The establishment of the rules for participation was made by Research Commission Resolution No. 004, of April 30, 2024, published in Service Bulletin nº 1342.
Instructions for participation in the Collaborating Researcher Program of UFABC
1. Initially, the interested party should seek a supervisor, professor of UFABC, who will be jointly responsible to the researcher for his acts and activities within the institution. The supervisor must meet the criteria set out in Article 5 of ConsUni Resolution No. 232.
2. The supervisor will be responsible for requesting registration with the Pro-Rectory of Research (ProPes), and forwarding the relevant documentation to the e-mail <cap.propes@ufabc.edu.br>, from his or her institutional e-mail.
3. Propes, upon receiving all the documentation and the form completely completed and signed, will send an e-mail to the secretariat of the Center to which the supervisor is linked, giving knowledge and waiting for approval for the continuation of the registration.
4. The researcher will receive an e-mail confirming the implementation of the registration, also containing instructions to create network login and institutional e-mail, and a link statement, which will be attached.

Renewal or change of CR registration
To renew the validity of the registration or report changes, the researcher’s supervisor must send the “CR Program Renewal/Change Form” to the email cap.propes@ufabc.edu.br, from their institutional email. Researchers holding a grant must send a copy of the grant term stating the new research period.
Completion and discontinuance of CR registration
If the researcher wishes to leave the program before the end of the term, the supervisor must send the “CR Program Termination Form” to the email cap.propes@ufabc.edu.br, from their institutional email.
At the end of the researcher’s registration in the CR Program, an approval opinion of the final report must be sent to Propes, as described below:
- For scholarship holders: approval opinion from the funding body or Postgraduate program that granted the scholarship;
- For volunteers: the supervisor’s opinion, under the agreement of the coordinator of the laboratory where the research took place.
When completing or leaving the program, it is necessary to send a debt settlement statement to the library and return the researcher badge, if collected.
Documents must be sent to cap.propes@ufabc.edu.br. Badges must be returned to Propes, in Block L, 3rd floor, Santo André campus, or in room 23, Block Delta, São Bernardo do Campo campus; or via mailing bag (addressed to Propes SA – Block L, 3rd floor).
