The creation of the Federal University of ABC was instituted by Law No. 11,145, of July 26, 2005, with its amendments published in the Official Union Gazette No. 58, of March 26, 2015, Section 1, page 2.
It is an institution founded to explore new possibilities, both in research and education. UFABC was created to promote primary rational knowledge and, despite the focus on the advancement of science and technology – electing research as the main instrument to achieve goals -, to stimulate an educational system that encourages the student body to make their own choices, to take risks and accept challenges.
