Strategic Units

Introduction

In 2013, UFABC established a policy to encourage the creation of Strategic Research Centers, which aim to promote the production and dissemination of knowledge in innovative areas considered strategic for the university, and also to encourage interdisciplinarity at a level of excellence. The main activity of the Centers is scientific and technological research, as long as it is clearly linked to the transmission of knowledge, through interaction with undergraduate and graduate programs and the university’s outreach activities.

The activities developed by the Centers must ensure the innovative nature of their projects, through cooperation and interdisciplinary integration between the different Centers and other university bodies. Since December 2017, the Centers have also received support from Senior Visiting Professors, selected through a Simplified Selection Process under the responsibility of the University’s Rectorate. Since UFABC’s foundation, 12 (twelve) Strategic Research Centers have been established, all linked to the Rectorate.
