Léonie Schwenger came from Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität (WWU) Münster (Germany) to study at UFABC for one quarter in 2023, taking classes in the Bachelor in Science and Technology program. As a participant in the Mates Program, she had a great experience with her companion:
The Mates program was one of the best things that happened to me in Brazil. My entire experience, both in Santo André and in other cities, was incredible and this program made my exchange experience even better. When I signed up for the program I thought that my Mate would just help me a little with bureaucratic issues and everyday life at college in the first weeks of classes, I didn’t think I would develop one of the best friendships of my life! (…) I will carry the memories of UFABC, with my mate and Brazil in general for the rest of my life! Thank you very much!!!!
Victor Vallim is from Jönköping University, Sweden, and he did an academic mobility semester at UFABC in the Bachelor in Economics Sciences program in 2019.
My exchange semester at the Federal University of ABC was a great experience, and I recommend students from all over the world to do it. The University offers a friendly environment, and I had the opportunity to meet amazing and ambitious students. The professors who I had classes with were very experienced in their fields and cared about the learning of their students. I got closer to some professors who were very open to discussions about their fields and real-life worldwide topics. In that way, it was a semester full of learning. The University is very diverse and gives its students the right to free speech, as well as offers many opportunities such as extracurricular lectures, contacts of companies for future careers, and many others. It was an excellent semester, and I hope I will have the opportunity to be back again sometime.
